Halloween was so fun. We went Trick or Treating on Coronado island this year. We may have to come back every year just because it was SO fun! I would have went around the Coronado neighborhoods all night...but Jentri had had enough :)

We celebrated Jentri & Nana's Birthday on October 24th. Nana & Papa Beard were able to come stay with us for the week to celebrate the big day...

Jentri wanted a Minnie Mouse Birthday... she picked the Surfer Mickey & Minnie on the beach (perfect for living in California) by the time we got home for the party, it was already time for jammies...

We spent the day at Sea World...SO much fun!! There are so many fun shows to see, awesome aquariums, and fun little rides for kids. Jentri had ups & downs that day. We went to the Pirate 4D movie where bats, spiders, and bees looked they were coming at you...her face and reaction was priceless (poor girl). Then we went to the show, One Ocean, she was loving the whales. She thought it was hilarious when Papa got wet. But then Shamu came and splashed us...let me re-phrase that, SOAKED us. We were all dying laughing...when we looked over at Jentri she was crying. But she soon got over and was saying she wanted to do it again. It was so much fun!

California Catch Up...

We made it to California...obviously. Yes, this post is a little overdue. But this moving thing has kept me busy! Anyway, I'll start at the beginning. After two long days of driving we arrived in Alpine, CA on September 8th to 105 degree weather. (luckily nana came with us for the drive so I didn't have to drive with two little ones alone! HUGE BLESSING! When we arrived in Alpine and went to get our apartment nearly every business in town, including the office at our apartment, was closing because there was a power outage. So, we could not get into our apartment! So frustrating. We then headed to get something to eat because we just drove and drove all day and didn't stop to eat. We were all starving! Well, with the power out all the restaurants closed! We headed to Albertson's and got just enough stuff to make some sandwiches and some water (THANK GOODNESS!) We went and got a motel room. With the power out we could not lock our room because we had NO key and there was no A/C (remember it was 105 outside!). We had NO flashlight, NO ice, NO home, less than a 1/4 tank of gas, and only $20 cash between all of us! Our cell phones didn't even work for a while either! We were seriously a little freaked out.The radio kept saying it could be out for days and try to conserve water because towns were starting to run out. We then went to Albertson's a second time to try to get some ice, cash, gas, water, flashlight etc. Well when we got there the lines were to the back of the store and there was virtually nothing left on the shelves. We went to get gas....but duh...no power no gas pumps! Long story short, we sat in a VERY dark motel room, in a strange, dark town, hearing sirens go off until about 1:30 a.m. when the power came back on....HALLELUJAH!! We also learned that we should have been listening to my dad all this time: always have at least $100 cash, never let your car get less than 1/2 tank, always carry a flashlight and a 72 hour kit! Needless to say, it was quite the welcome to our new home...

The next day we finally got into our apartment. Poor Cody had to move us into an upstairs apartment with only the help of my mom and I. We could not have done this without the help of my mom! She was seriously so much help with the girls and the moving/unpacking! We were able to enjoy a couple days before she had to fly back. Just before she left we took Jentri to see the ocean for the first time...she wasn't sure what to think of all that water at first! She loved it though...

Cody works nearly 15+ hours everyday. So when he has a day off we take FULL advantage of it...

Overall, we are doing well. Jentri has had the hardest time adjusting. She is so used to having her cousins, friends, and family so close. She keeps saying she wants friends, but she is SO shy. We will meet little girls her age, but she will not talk to them if their moms are standing there. She is so active that it is sometimes hard for her to be in a small apartment. Luckily, there is a pool here, and a park and library close by. But she is happy. She loves being able to go the zoo and the beach and stuff. Bostyn is growing like crazy and changes everyday. She is starting to do a lot of baby talk and the beginning of a cute little baby laugh. She is a really happy girl. We are so thankful for the opportunity we have been given for Cody to get this job and for us to have the opportunity to live here. I love the climate... I just planted my 'winter veggies' yesterday!

Although we were in the middle of moving we couldn't miss the opportunity to go to the Idaho State Fair. It is our yearly tradition to go every year and go to the horse races. Unfortunately, we didn't go to the races this year. But the fair still provided a good time: unhealthy, but YUMMY food, animals for Jentri to see, and GREAT people watching.

Cody blessed Bostyn on September 4th (2 days before moving to CA) in my parents' ward. It was a little rushed but it was still a great day. Cody gave a wonderful blessing to Bostyn Lynn.

Life just seems to go by too quickly these days. Motherhood is amazing...but I feel like time just flies by and I can never remember all the cute/crazy/sad/happy and wonderful moments that take place throughout the course of a single day. Like the way Jentri looks in her little helmet on her bike peddling as fast as her little legs can go, and the way Bostyn gives that big baby grin every morning at 6 a.m. Cody, myself, Jentri, and Bostyn all traveled to our house in Utah last Monday to take care of a few things before we close on it this week (YAY! no more renters and worrying about our house in Utah!) Going back there made me feel a little sentimental. It reminded me of Jentri's "baby days". I left a vinyl quote on the wall when we moved out and our renters left it up as well. It says, "We don't remember days, we remember moments". It made me think of all the wonderful moments that have happened and continue to happen that make parenthood so amazing. I just always want to be able to remember those moments and hold them in a place in my heart forever.

Jentri has changed and grown so much just in the last month since Bostyn was born. She loves to be my helper with Bostyn, until it is diaper changing time. When I asked her if she wanted to change Bostyn's diaper she informed me that she is "just the sister, not the mommy" and that one day she will be a mommy and be more than willing to change diapers at that point. Jentri is her happiest when our little family is all together. When we are all home and Cody or myself volunteer to run to the store for something or grab a movie she breaks down. She insists that all four of us must go together. She always requests to have a "family night" or "movie night". Jentri has some serious spunk, but she is so sweet and loving as well. When she was a baby she LOVED my eyelashes. She would play with my eyelashes to get to sleep. Now that she is older she has moved onto just rubbing my face with her hand. She is a SERIOUS cuddlebug! Jentri loves to play with her dolls, babies, Strawberry Shortcake, but she loves trucks and playing motorbikes with Ryder too. She is also obsessed with the garbage truck...funny, I know. For a little while she kept requesting to have a garbage truck birthday party. She has now moved on to Strawberry Shortcake. But every Thursday morning when she hears the garbage truck coming she runs out and watches it and waves in complete excitement. Cracks me up!

Little Bostyn turned one month old on the 12th *tear* The cliche, "Where has the time gone?!" is running through my head. She pretty much slept through her entire first month, but the last few days she has become more alert. I must say, she is a completely different baby than Jentri. She rarely cries and if she does it is because she is hungry or just needs some loves. She is spoiled for sure, but that is okay. She loves being held and talked to. I'll be honest, I spoil my kids. I hold them and snuggle them and rock them to sleep every night. But the way I see it, they are only little for a little while. One day I will really miss these days. Bostyn is also very smiley. She already has such a smiley, happy personality. I can't wait to see more of her personality come out.

The 4th of July weekend was a lot of fun this year. It was packed full of things to do between rodeo, Glenn Beck, fireworks at Huntsman's and Melaleuca, the parade and lake. But it was all so much fun. Huntsman's provided another amazing event this year between BYU Idaho symphony, Glenn Beck and an amazing firework show! It really added to the feeling of patriotism! We had an amazing weekend and came home completely exhausted by the end of it!

I just got home from the doctor today and am feeling so grateful for a healthy pregnancy! Our new little girl is growing and doing great. When I first got pregnant I was so scared because I didn't want to do the same thing this time as I did with Jentri. But it seems like things have just gotten better the further along I have gotten. I only have one month to go! She is already bigger than Jentri was when she was born. We are so excited for our new little addition and the wonderful little girl we already have. Jentri is very excited for "big sisterhood"... she will be quite the helper :)

I thought in honor of Father's Day I would talk about how thankful I am for Cody and the great dad he is. Lately Jentri has been VERY into her dad. She tells him to not go to work nearly every morning. He takes her on "dates" once in awhile and she thinks that is the best thing ever. Last night he was bathing her and she just stopped what she was doing and said, "I love you Dad". I thought it was the sweetest thing ever. The other day I had my camera out and she said, "I want to talk to the camera"...she wanted to tell the camera that she loves her dad... (she uses her baby talk voice for the camera)

Since good ole Idaho is still bringing snow and cold our way, we decided to head south last weekend in search of warmer weather! We went with my parents down to St. George and Mesquite for a quick getaway. We hiked around the desert and did some swimming (Jentri's favorite). It was so nice to be in the warm sun!

We, of course, had to stop at Cabelas on the way home...where Jentri purchased safari animals...

Jentri is really growing up lately. She is quite excited for baby sister and loves to "help" me get all the baby stuff ready. She rarely goes a day without hugging, kissing, talking, singing etc. to my belly (which is growing by the day! I can really see the difference between my 1st and 2nd pregnancy!).

I don't think she remembers last Easter, but seems to be quite excited for the Easter Bunny to come this year. She LOVES these bunny ears Grandma Julie gave her and wears them on a daily basis. She is really into pretending lately...these bunny ears aid her pretending to be a bunny.
We all have SPRING FEVER around here. When it reaches 40 degrees we get excited and head outside! We can't wait for warmer weather!

But when it is cold and yucky as it so often is here...Jentri loves playing play dough with her friends.

Jentri is also a BIG FAN of her dad lately! She LOVES the days when he can just be home with us!

GIRL! Yes, baby girl #2 is on the way! I have already posted this on facebook, so I am sure most people know by now. But I like to atleast try to keep my blog updated for journaling purposes. We found out on Monday and we were definitely surprised...but we are so excited too!I have to admit that I always say I can't handle a lot of girls, but the thought of having two cute little girls sounds pretty fun! We already have everything too...so that is definitely a plus! Here is baby girl

Jentri is SO excited. She loves looking at the ultrasounds. Whenever someone comes to our house she takes them straight over to our magnet board to show off the pictures of her baby sister. We took her to the ultrasound with us and she was so cute. She just held my hand while I got it done and watched the monitor with Cody. She has grown up a lot lately and is getting ready for "big sisterhood", or atleast we hope.

Jentri is so excited for Christmas this year. She is understanding the whole concept of Santa bringing toys. Christmas shopping is definitely harder this year compared to last! The sneaky little stinker already found one bag of Christmas presents! Whenever we are in a store she finds something she wants and says that Santa will bring it to her for Christmas. For example today she spotted a Barbie fishing pole in Walmart and decided that Santa would bring her that too :) We'll have to see about that :) It seems like the holiday season is just flying by and I haven't accomplished all that I have wanted to, but I am still excited for the season. WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!

Jentri is really getting full of expression and personality lately. She is a huge tease and loves to make anything she does funny! She LOVES to laugh...whether with you, by herself, or even at you! She will be turning two next week! We cannot believe how fast two years flies by. We cannot imagine our lives without her. She has been such a blessing to our life!

The next couple weeks are a little busy. Cody is flying to Florida for some work and will be gone for four days. Then we have Jentri's birthday, then our anniversary, then comes halloween! We are getting very excited about Halloween around here as well! We are getting Jentri's costume all ready! We love fall! It is the best time of year!

we are now living in idaho. the transition went very smoothly. we are really enjoying living closer to family and friends.

we went to the idaho state fair a couple of weeks ago...we usually go every year for the horse races. jentri loved the all the animals!

Our life is a little crazy lately. Just last Wednesday we decided to put our house up for rent. On Thursday I put it on KSL and an hour later I started getting calls. We had it rented out by Saturday. We felt like it was a sign that we were making the best decision. The new tenants came by and signed the lease; it is a done deal starting September 1st. This is both bittersweet and exciting for us. It is hard to leave our first little home and our awesome neighborhood and ward. But sometimes you just have no other choice but to move on! It will be nice to be closer to our family and friends up in Idaho too! After MUCH prayer we decided this was going to be the best for us. We haven't decided on a for sure residence! So, if any of you Idahoans know of any good rentals in the Idaho Falls/Rexburg area send a comment my way! Here we come Idaho!

jentri and her new 4-wheeler from Ryder. he was nice enough to let her have it :) (thanks carie and rory for the 4-wheeler and cute vinyl) jentri loves it! the other day i caught her standing on the seat driving it across the yard. she did this until she popped a wheelie and went over backwards...our little trick rider :)

she also got her first pet...a fish. we wish it was a dog, but a fish is all we can do right now :) she says "hello fish" every morning and various times throughout the day

this is where i found her after she ran out of the bathroom naked after bath time...sadly...she had to pee on the clothes that she did not pull out before climbing in...ha ha ha

i just finished making my first batch of homemade mayo. i personally am not mayo's biggest fan. i have never loved the taste or the nutritional value of it. well, i guess i have made a few choice salads with it. however, cody takes his own lunch a lot, and he has to have mayo on a sandwich. so i figured i would atleast make it homemade and avoid the highly processed, preservative packed mayo you get at the grocery store. atleast making it homemade you can use good oil that has Omega 3's in it and good ingredients. i got a recipe HERE from Taste is Trump! this is a great blog for those looking for healthy tips and recipes. i'll be honest, making it made me realize just why i don't like it. but it is a great recipe that works and is a healthier alternative to buying it at the store! and the next time i make broccoli salad, i will definitely be using this mayo for it!

On Saturday I finally graduated! My parents, Nancy, Trey, and Staeleigh were able to come down for the occassion. It was so nice to have them come down and spend the weekend with us. So glad you came guys...love you much! And thanks to my hubby for all the love and support he gave me while trying to finish school! Love ya babe!

just a little rambling...

Just thought I would give a little update on what's going on in our life. Don't mind the pic of Jentri in the bath with dinner on her face :) I hadn't quite gotten to washing it before I snapped a few pics ;) Anyway, Jentri is now 18 months old! My, how time flies. She is very healthy and ACTIVE and doing great! She is 75th percentile for height and 40th for weight. Poor little girl had shots today and boy did she cry. Well, she started to cry just when we walked in the same room as the nurse. She kept pointing to the door the whole time saying, "Out". Poor little thing. She is very busy and would spend everyday outside if I would let her...rain or shine! She has really been in a "daddy phase" lately. She loves me while we are at home all day. But as soon as Cody gets home I can't do anything for her. She makes Cody bath her, change her diapers (not too bad for me ha ha), and do EVERYTHING! When we go running at night if I even try to push the stroller she freaks out! She L.O.V.E.S her daddy! But when she gets tired she decideds I'm okay and needs her mom! She is starting to say a lot of words and is just so much fun! She is going through a little biting phase...which is a little difficult! We love her so much and are so thankful for such a happy little girl!

I have been thinking a lot lately about ways we can save money. Being a stay at home mom means that we have a very tight budget! I always hear everyone talk about how couponing saves loads of money. But to be honest, I find it very frustrating. Almost everything I buy is fruits and veggies, and I have never seen any coupons for that! I try to make a lot of things from scratch to avoid high fructose corn syrup and disgusting preservatives! And...again...most of the coupons I see are just for that! I try to use coupons when I buy hygiene products and cleaning supplies, which does save some money. But I want to learn how to really make some big cuts in our budget. So, today I got on Amazon and ordered the above book. I got the used version, much cheaper than new, and hopefully I can learn the ins n' outs of money saving!

last saturday we were getting ready to put jentri to bed and we were talking about how much we wished we were camping. we are so ready for summer. so we came up with this crazy notion to
"camp" in our living room. yes...i know, we are crazy. but that's how cody and i work...we just do crazy things like that. and life's about making memories...right? anyway, jentri loved it! she went crazy when we put it up (you can tell by her hair that she was playing in it ha ha) hopefully we can do some real camping soon!

{jentri} is growing so big! she is getting a lil' sassy with quite the personality! every spring growing up my mom would take me shopping and we would get a new pair of spring shoes and a shirt. so in honor of the nice day yesterday jentri and i went to do a little shopping. she picked out these pink sneakers all by herself. i kept trying others on her and she just kept saying "NO!" and would not put them on. she wouldn't put her old shoes back on either. so she chose these little pink high top sneakers. i didn't mind though...i think they are pretty cute. i actually have a short top pair just like them (maybe that's why she wanted them??). after that we just came home and enjoyed the sunny weather.

so julie showed me this blog and i {LOVE} it!! i am always game to learn more about healthy eating and stuff like that. well, one afternoon with this blog and i am so motivated now! the enlightened homemaker gives tips, recipes, and just healthful information! i am really into her post about eating less meat in our lives. she makes references to the word of wisdom and other great articles {find her post here} after reading them i just felt really inspired to change our diet. don't get me wrong, i love meat and will continue to eat meat, i just think we could eat less of it. check it out...it is great information for everyone!

i am one lucky girl. last night my ward did a swap meet for enrichment. we all brought stuff we wanted to get rid of and then had a drawing for the things we wanted. i saw a great future in my home for some of the stuff...with the help of some black spray paint that is. it was a good opportunity to get rid of some old stuff and get some great "new" stuff. every ward should do this! it was a lot of fun. the greatest part is that all this stuff was FREE!

our holiday festivities began on the 23rd when we headed to idaho for the annual woolstenhulme "whoovillation". we had an ugly sweater contest (which i won... thank you very much). cody's fam went all out and dressed up like whos...it was so much fun!! we spent christmas eve and morning at papa and nana beard's and christmas day at grams and gramps wooly's. jenri loved opening presents this year, it made it a lot of fun. we spent a lot of time out sledding too...which jentri really loved. it was so nice to spend some time with our families...

well miss jentri kay is now walking ALL over the place! the crawling days are over. last week she started walking, which is in the video. now she is practically running all over the house! she is growing up so much!

her new favorite thing is {helping} me with laundry. whenever i open the dryer and start folding she grabs clothes out faster than i can fold. after she gets them she drapes them over her head and runs. yesterday she got my tank and her beads on all by herself and was running all over the house. it is so fun to see her personality coming out.

last week we had my niece and nephew trey and staeleigh here with us. we made brownies and the kids loved the batter...as you can see!

the last few weeks we have been in idaho because my dad was nice enough to let cody work with him on a job. my parents were nice enough to let us pretty much move in with them the last few weeks too. we really appreciated it. while we were there we did some fun stuff, cody spent most of his time working or hunting. i did a lot of canning. we went into a place called bear canyon on horses (cody and i took turns hiking with jentri). it is one of my favorite places in the world. it is so pretty! one day my sister, mom, and i canned tomatoes. we made salsa, spaghetti sauce, and just plain tomatoes. jentri loves tomatoes. she was getting fussy so i was holding her while trying to do tomatoes and she just kept reaching in the bowl and eating them...we couldn't stop her because it was just too funny. it was nice to spend time up in idaho...i love the valley this time of year. it was nice to spend some quality time with our families as well.

when we had our booth in treemonton we put jentri in a baby contest just for fun...she got the "brightest eyes award"

we took jentri to her 9 month check up on monday. i thought for the last week her ears may have been hurting her. she has been getting her top teeth and has been really congested, i knew an ear infection can sometimes follow that. well the dr. looked an said her ears were horrible, i felt horrible! other than that she is doing great. she is in the 20th percentile for weight (17 lbs.) and 60th for height (27 1/2 in). the only time she stops moving anymore is when she is taking her naps, 30 minute naps! she is a busy little bug...but we adore her!

last night we went for a hike up in ogden canyon. we have been planning on going up there for a long time now and just haven't got around to it. it is really beautiful when you get up there. it was great exercise too...especially with jentri in the pack. it was a nice break from running in the heat. here's a few pics...ignore how sweaty we are :)

a lot has been going on lately and i just haven't seemed to find time to post. summer is so busy. we have had lots of fun lately, mostly spending some time with our families. but had a few challenges too. about a month ago the school cody was working for went out of business so he is on the job hunt. last week our car's tranmission went out along with a whole lot of other problems, but fortunately we were able to just trade it for a more reliable car, instead of have to pay more than the entire car was worth to get it fixed. we decided put our house up for sale too. all the jobs that cody qualifies for are not in utah, we thought it would be best to get ahead of the game and not have to worry about getting the house sold when he gets a job. it is a little bittersweet. it is hard to think about leaving our home. we are still happy though and enjoying life. jentri is changing so much. we can really see her personality coming out. she is understanding things a lot more. she is able to point at "bird" and "frog" when we ask her to point at the pictures of them on her highchair. she also loves the portraits on the walls. she loves our family pictures. it is awesome to see her begin to comprehend the things we teach her. she absolutely loves outside. she is getting around so good. she doesn't crawl around on her hands and knees she walks around on her hands and feet...she is actually pretty fast.

last thursday we woke up and wanted to do something fun while cody has some free time. we decided to take jentri on her first trip to the hogle zoo. well just before we took the exit i started saying that i haven't really been anywhere since our honeymoon. we always said we were going to drive down to st. george for a weekend so i could show cody where i lived and stuff down there, but we just haven't had time. i was saying that we just need to go on a fun little road trip. cody said, "well lets go then." i started laughing. he was serious. within two minutes we decided to go. all we had were the clothes we were wearing. i had a pick for my hair in the car and that was it. he got over in the lane in slc with the sign that says "las vegas" and we were on our way! we were both laughing so hard we were crying. we first went to st. george and i showed him around a little. i took him and jentri up on dixie rock and showed him where i used to live etc. we had to make a stop at walmart for each of us a cheap shirt the next day and a few other supplies. we spent the night in mesquite for $24.99 and had $4.99 prime rib for dinner (with all the old people gamblers...ha ha). friday we woke up and decided to hit the hoover dam...cody had never been there. we drove through overton, nv then around lake mead over to the hoover. after the hoover we were off to vegas to hit the strip. it was 104 degrees...so HOT! we ended our night in st. george with a dinner at the famous in in-n-out burger...i had never had it...yum! by the end of the trip my hair was a complete wreck...i have curly hair and a really short cut... i didn't have a straightener or anything (ha ha ha)! jentri seemed to enjoy our trip. she was such a good lil' peanut the whole time! our little adventure was maybe one of the most spontaneous/crazy/random things cody and i have ever done. cody and i are usually the type that writes lists of all the things we need to pack for each day and it takes us an entire day to get everything ready. but it was kind of nice to just skip the packing part and go on a fun adventure...that is what making memories is all about.

we have not had much family time lately because we have been so busy with everything and cody has been working a lot. he was gone to oklahoma for three days over the weekend...so we thought we would have a fun FHE last night. we started a fire in the back yard and i made tin foil fajitas (i thought i would experiment a little) to cook over the fire...you should try them, we loved them! we then got icecream, got in the hot tub and watched a movie. it was so nice to spend some time together! jentri loved the hot tub too!

so my latest little hobby & hopefully money maker are these watches. I love making them...it is actually pretty fun to design different ones. i am planning on selling them in shops around the area. I like them because you can change the bands to match whatever you're wearing & also make them "original" for your own little sense of style.

{jentri} is just growing and growing and changing everyday! she now has her two bottom teeth and is working very hard at getting the rest (she just drools and chews on everything!). she is so close to crawling! she crawls backward and scoots on her bum...but no crawling yet. she stands on all fours with her bum in the air and did a somersault on accident the other day...it was pretty funny. she loves to play peek-a-boo through the coffee table. she waves and says, "hi" to everyone, especially everyone around us in church. she loves to stand up to things and she loves to pat-a-cake...it is her newest hobby. it is so fun to watch her grow and change and learn new things everyday!

we have had quite a lot of fun the last few days. last thursday my mom came to visit for a couple days. we hung out and did some shopping, went to temple square and the mayan...it was nice to have her come and visit! then on saturday we met bart, julie and the girls to do a little fishing at devil's creek. it was a great day too! then after church on sunday we headed down to spanish fork to camp with our friends in their cabin. we finished up our weekend with a stop at cabela's on the way home (cody just had to check out the memorial day sale!) ...it was all so much fun!

jentri is now 7 months old! she is changing so much! just a few days ago she started saying, "mom"! this morning i just noticed that her first tooth came through! she is just so much fun...we love her!

than a warm saturday like this! jentri let us sleep in until 9 0'clock! that has NEVER happened. then we did yard work, washed our cars, cleaned out the garage, my garden is growing, i got to relax in the hammock and i have a nice little sunburn i can feel on my back! what a wonderful day. then tonight we are going to the drive-in! woohoo! what a wonderful saturday!

between school, birthday, visits from family, and mother's day, we have been pretty busy. last wednesday was cody's birthday. i felt bad that he didn't get to spend it with family so i tried to make it as nice as possible. i made him a helicopter cake just for fun. he got a pontoon boat, fishing pole, 22 shells, and hammock (which i love). i think he ended up having a pretty good birthday. then on friday we left to go up to idaho so he could go fishing with his dad and use his new boat. cody gave me an early mother's day present; an awesome hiking baby pack to use with jentri. i have been wanting one for so long. i love it! while he was fishing on saturday i went hiking with my parents and found a pretty sweet horn! i have to admit i was pretty excited! we had a great mother's day too. we went to church and had some good dutch oven prepared by the father's in our fam. we always love to be able to spend some time with our family!

today was jentri's 6 month check-up & shots. i HATE when i have to watch her get her shots. cody explained to her while he fed her breakfast this morning that it was for the best so she wouldn't get sick...but i am not sure she understood (it was very cute though). the last two times she started to cry before they even poke her because the nurses scare her. poor little girl! she was tough though! i snapped these pics today, so i don't think the shots have gotten to her too bad yet! i hope they don't! she now weighs 14.8 lbs. she is in the 25th percentile for weight & 75th for height. she has gained 10 lbs. just since she was born. her new favorite thing is drinking out of her sippy cup. she rolls clear across the floor now and is starting to sit-up on her own. she is so much fun! we adore her!

i love to garden and work in the dirt. i have been waiting all winter for the snow to leave so i could start a garden. cody and i saw on the news last week that if you put $50 into making your own garden...in can turn into $1200 worth of veggies! so on saturday morning we woke up early and went to work. we dug up a section of the lawn to start a garden... it was some serious hard work! i was covered in dirt afterward! it felt good to do some hard work though! we got our zuchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes planted in a inside planter to get them sprouting. sadly, we have snow today though! but i can't wait to start planting in the garden! i will post some fruits of our labor a little later on in the summer...

yesterday we were in sportsman's shopping for my dad's birthday. cody was buying some fishing stuff and i walked up and saw the sweetest fishing pole! i don't have one and i always have to borrow cody's or not fish. lately cody has been wanting to get me a pole. when he saw this one he said, "that is so you." so he picked it up and put it in the cart. what a sweetheart! i love it. he is just too good to me! i am sure the fish will really love my pink pole too :)

since cody had been gone for a few days we wanted to do something fun together and get out of the house on saturday. we decided to go to park city to shop the outlets and then to IKEA to look around at some home improvement ideas. we soon realized that we like shopping for jentri much more than for ourselves...it was fun though! we got her this really great polka-dot outfit and some funny little sunglasses too! when we put the glasses on her in the store we were busting up...poor girl! we just had to snap a few funny shots of her today!

this is how i get things done around the house. jentri rarely takes long naps. she just takes little 30-45 minute ones...so i don't get a lot done while she sleeps. she is getting to the point where she likes to be sitting up and doing something all the time and have our constant attention. so this is how i get stuff done--the frontpack--it is great! she loves it too! cody always laughs when he comes home and she is just hanging there doing stuff with me.

since valentine's day is in just a few days i thought i would talk a little bit about "my valentine". wow...i am one lucky girl. cody was a great catch. i must admit, i am a very lucky lady! cody has always been so great to me. i don't know if you know "our love story"...but i will tell you a little about it...

it all began at our old stomping ground...teton high school. well, my junior year i was at a homecoming dance and i was walking to the edge of the cafeteria (yeah...our dances were held in the cafeteria) anyway... as i was walking someone said "who's hooker boots are those on the ground?" cody said, "i think they're jessie beard's." which they were not. yeah...quite the romantic beginning... ha ha! but it worked...we danced the rest of the night and have pretty much been together ever since.

cody and i had so much fun when we were dating. we always did crazy things. cody never failed to keep me laughing and loving him! now that we are married it is just the same way only better. as we move forward with our life i only love him more. having jentri really made me feel so much love for him. having a family means so much. cody takes such good care of us. everyday i look at him and wonder how i have gotten so lucky...

For anyone out there who loves to read to their kids...this is a great book! I read to Jentri on a daily basis. This book is my favorite of all...so we read it A LOT! The first time I read it to her I got all teary eyed. It is a great book that talks about the unconditional love you can have for a child. I would highly recommend it!

When I was in St. George I was blessed with an amazing opportunity. I worked for a group home called Danville Services. One of my clients was Debbie. She was such an amazing person. I became very close with her. She always made me laugh. I didn't take care of Debbie...she took care of me. I was often homesick being so far away from home alone. She was always so kind to me. She was not just my client, she was my friend. The first time I moved home for the summer her and I were both sobbing. We knew we were really going to miss eachother. Today I found out she passed away. I just wanted to take a minute and reflect on the great times I had with her and how blessed I was to be a part of her life. I love you Debbie!

There is no particular reason for this post. It is just that I love my little girl so darn much! Last night Cody and I were watching one of my favorite shows on TLC, "Mystery Diagnosis", after we put Jentri to bed. It was about this little baby girl that was four months old and nearly died. She was at Primary Children's for months. I turned to Cody and said, "Wow, it's a lot different now that we have a baby of our own." It was so cute, Cody went into her bedroom and was talking to her while she slept telling her how much he loved her and to not ever get sick. It made us realize just how blessed we truly are to have such a healthy little girl. It is just amazing the love that you feel for such a little toot.

Jentri is my little cuddlebug. When I was pregnant with her I was constantly telling Cody how much I wanted a cuddly baby. Well, a cuddly baby is what I got. She loves to lay on my chest and grab my shirt with one hand and rub my side with the other. I absolutely adore it! We love our little cuddlebug!!

Jentri was blessed on Sunday by her daddy. We decided to bless her in the valley so everyone could come. It meant a lot to do it at home. Cody did a wonderful job. It was a beautiful blessing. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband and baby... I love you both so much!

Jentri's first Christmas was so fun! Even though she didn't understand any of it... it was still a lot of fun for Cody and I! We spent Christmas Eve day with my family and then went back to Cody's parents to spend the night. We almost didn't make it back out to my parents' on Christmas day due to the massive storm. It was great though...we were going down the road busting drifts to get to my parents! Of course, Cody and I loved it. We thought it made Christmas so much fun! We love our families so much! It was really great to spend some time with everyone!

So, I am finally getting around to posting on the last couple of weeks! A lot has been going on and I have fallen behind. So... first, we went to Idaho... Chad came home from the mission, then we had Christmas, then my two nephews, Bryer and Chet came to stay with us in Utah the next week, Jentri also had shots that week and got a little fussy and sick! We celebrated the New Year then went back to Idaho for Jentri's blessing! Now I am finally getting around to post it all, thanks to a friendly reminder from my best little buddy...Manda Jo! Tomorrow we go home for Thanksgiving and I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am. Due to the complications I had with Jentri I was not able to go anywhere. We have not been home since the last of July. We went up a couple of weeks ago for Cody to grab stuff from his parents house, but it was only for about an hour and it was dark. So it really felt like I didn't even go home. It is amazing how much the feeling and meaning of home means to you when you are gone for a little while.

This year we have Thanksgiving at my parents house. My mom and I have always planned what she was going to decorate the tree like since I was little. I remember in elementary school my favorite colors were teal and purple... so what would you know, I convinced my mom to buy all new teal and purple Christmas tree decorations. Now that is truly the symbol of a mother's love. The holidays at my parents have always meant so much to me! I have always loved helping my mom decorate around the house. It is so strange for both her and I to decorate for the holidays without eachother. So, this year she decided she wanted a new tree. Since I live right by Tai Pan she sent me there to get new decorations for her tree! I couldn't wait. I love that she trusts me. She told me how much to spend and told me to get what I thought would be good. Well, that I did! I bought beautiful red and brown decor for the tree. It really is beautiful. Then I had her pick up a few things. All week we have been on the phone planning out the tree. We are going to decorate it the day after Thanksgiving! Even though I truly love decorating, it is not that, that I am truly excited about; it is the opportunity to carry out a tradition with my mom that has always meant so much to me.

I am so excited to take Jentri home and spend time with the family. I always want her to know our families well and be comfortable with them. She has not even got to meet all of my brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews yet! I love FAMIlY. Whether it be the Beard's or the Woolstenhulme's; I love them both! I cannot wait to get a hug from my dad, kisses from all the nieces and nephews and just spend some quality time with the fam!

We went to the doctor today and our little toot is growing! Two weeks ago she was 5 lbs. Well, when she was first weighed today she was 5 lbs 6 oz. I knew her doctor would not be too happy about that... I was right he wasn't, neither were Cody and I. I was so frustrated because I really felt like she has been growing like crazy! Well, just as he was explaining that her weight was not good and we had to figure out why the nurse came in and asked to weigh her again. She said the batteries were dying in the scale. Well, when we put her back on the scale she weighed 6 lbs 8 oz!!! She has gained about 2 lbs since she was born... which was only three weeks ago! Here she is today... in her newborn size outfit. She is growing out of her preemie clothes quickly!

I was going to post about Cody and I's anniversary, but things got a little crazy and I didn't have time! Anyway... I just thought I would post a few of our wedding pics. On October 28th we were married two years. It was the best decision I have ever made! Spending everyday and building your life with your best friend is awesome! Thanks babe for the best two years and here is to eternity!

Jentri's first Halloween was pretty mild. We just hung out at home and handed our candy to the neighborhood kids. Thanks to Amanda, Jentri was ready for Halloween with a new pumpkin outfit and black bow! Thanks Amanda for being so good to us! We love you!

Jentri Kay Woolstenhulme! On October 24th we had an amazing event! Our little Jentri came! I had went in for some testing and my blood pressure was too high, so my doctor decided to deliver. I was 35 weeks. She was born at 1:12 a.m. and was 4 lbs. 9 oz

It was so exciting because we had decided to name her after my mom, and she was born on her birthday! Here they are on their big day...

We felt that it was meant to be! We were so blessed to have her come safely. There are really no words to describe just how blessed we really are! She only spent twelve hours in the NICU and has done great since! Her pediatrician said she acts like a full-term 8 lb baby. There really are no words to describe the joy that a baby brings to your life.

We have always heard that there is nothing like it, but we now understand it. We have so much to be thankful for! Life is wonderful and we are truly thankful to our Heavenly Father for her! Thanks to all of our family and friends for all of the love and support as well... We LOVE you all SO much!

I must say that I am one lucky girl! I really do have a great husband! Today was killer for me! I go crazy somedays being on bed rest, especially away from all of our family! Anyway...today was just "one of those days"! Cody didn't really know I was going crazy being here, but he had an extra few minutes at work and ran home to say "hi" and have some lunch. When he called to say he was coming home I was thinking about how irritable and grouchy I felt...bad I know. But when he got here he came straight in and hugged me and then started playing with my belly saying how cute it is... (which is hard to believe) But he was just so nice to me it made my whole day! I didn't feel like such a grouch after that. Once again...Cody saved the day for me and didn't even know it! I love him!

WE LOVE SNOW!! Cody and I have not been able to get up to Teton Valley for a couple of months. We are missing it pretty bad...especially since it is hunting season and Cody has not even picked up a rifle or bow! We have just been wanting to go home to the cool fall weather and see some snow on the mountaintops!
Well, on Sunday morning we woke up to a "winter wonderland"! We were so excited, it reminded us of home. Just while we were in church that morning it snowed about six inches on our car! It broke tree branches off and everything! It was so much fun though. We started our fire place and made it nice and cozy! It did make us want to go hang out with our families pretty bad though! We wished we were there to start a big game of Texas Hold Em' with the fam!

Cody graduated school in July. He was luckily hired to be an instructor shortly after he finished school. He absolutely loves flying! It is truly his passion. He loves going to work to fly. We have truly been blessed by the decision he made to do helicopter school!

We have now been married for two years. The biggest part of our life right now is the waiting for the newest addition to our family! We are so excited to start a family! We are all ready for our new little girl! We are living in Utah in our new home...which we love! Cody is a helicopter pilot instructor! He absolutely loves his job! I think it is one of the best decisions he has ever made! It is so awesome for him to go to work everyday and love it! Our life really is awesome! We are truly blessed! We have had our struggles, but with each trial we have been given, we have also learned something very valuable and had our faith made stronger! We love our life and each other!
